Meet the Team

Dr Giles Collyer BChD

Principle Dentist (Leeds 2007) - GDC 114135

Our principal dentist, Dr Giles Collyer took over the practice in 2017 and quickly built up a reputation for providing high quality dental treatment in a caring environment. He has now fully refurbished, updated and extended the practice to enable more patients to access this care. Giles qualified in 2007 from Leeds university and since then has worked in general practice in Bradford, Littlehampton and Eastbourne. He has extensive experience and a successful track record of high-quality dentistry and oral care provision, including root canal treatment, fillings, tooth extractions, braces and implants. He lives in Eastbourne with his wife, two children, two dogs and a slightly overweight cat. In his spare time Giles enjoys sailing, cycling and training for the (very) occasional triathlon.

Geraldine Grob BDS

Dentist (London 2007) - GDC 114648

Gerry joined the practice in January 2023 having recently moved to the area. Having completed a BSc at The University of Bristol, Gerry continued her studies and graduated as a dentist from The University of London in 2007. This was followed by completion of MJDF (Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties) exams in 2011. As a trailing spouse, she has had the opportunity to work in several different practices from London to Singapore, and during the pandemic worked in an Emergency Dental Care Hub in Gloucestershire before moving to Sussex. All this moving has given her a great wealth of experience in all areas of dentistry. As a side line to teeth, Gerry is also a skilled Botox practitioner, treating wrinkles as well as overworked masticatory muscles that “grinders” often suffer with. Outside of work, Gerry is busy caring for her young family, and exploring the world when time allows!

Julia Burgess Dip CDT RCS (Eng)

Clinical Denture Technician - GDC 126009

Julia has been our prosthetic technician since Giles took over the practice. When she knew we were expanding she was keen to come on board and be on site. Julia trained as a dental technician with Kings College Hospital London, qualifying in 1995. After spending time in dental laboratories across Sussex she set up her own lab so she could be close to home for her young family (who are now not so young). In 2006, following a three-year course Julia qualified as a Clinical Dental Technician. A further year was spent attaining The Royal College of Surgeons (Eng) Diploma in Clinical Dental Technology. Outside of work Julia likes to go to concerts, visit family in the New Forest and Denmark, walk the dog and complete the occasional charity walk.

Laura Whiting FdSc

Dental Hygienist (Essex 2022) - GDC 282144

Our Hygienist Laura Joined the Practice in December 2022 after recently qualifying from the University of Essex. Our practice manager Becky has worked within the practice since January 2018, she trained alongside Giles and qualified as a dental nurse early 2021. You’ll see her around the practice helping where needed and assisting with the training of new staff members and trainee dental nurses. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
